Your test sequence includes trials in which joint angles will be estimated (depending on sensor placement). You will be prompted to have the subject stand in the joint angle calibration pose described below when initiating these trials.

Calibration Instructions

Upon administration of the recording, there will be a 3 second countdown period prior to the test. During this period, the participant must remain as still as possible in the calibration pose described below. The purpose of this pose is to align all joints as closely to their proper, neutral position as possible and will serve as the reference point from which all joint angles are calculated.

Calibration Pose

The subject stands upright, with feet directly beneath their hips and toes pointed straight forward. Standing as tall as possible, the subject looks straight ahead and keeps their arms straight with palms facing their sides.

Sensor Alignment Check

Prior to calibration and while the participant is in the calibration pose, make sure that the head and sternum sensors are level and facing straight forward, the lumbar sensor is level and facing straight backward, and the upper arm, wrist, hand, and upper leg sensors are level and facing directly to the side. The foot and lower leg sensors should be properly aligned if placed according to the instructions on the previous page.
